Patients’ Hospital of Redding is a boutique, acute-care surgical hospital focued on delivering quality, patient-centered care for surgical patients. The hospital was first conceived in 1986 by Dr. James Tate, a neurosurgeon, who sought to elevate the standard of care for surgical patients in the Redding area by addressing concerns about nursing ratios, patient comfort, food quality, and stress in hospital stays. After planning and collaboration with other physicians and healthcare providers, Patients’ Hospital opened in March 1992, offering surgical services in a smaller, more personalized hospital setting
